Flutes Clutched in Monstrous Paws

15 July, 2013

I’ve run across quite a few Mythos-inspired songs, whether they contain passing references to the likes of The King in Yellow in Blue Oyster Cult’s E.T.I. or are full-blown homages such as Metalica’s Call of Ktulu. Some bands, namely The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, produce more Mythos songs than they do regarding other subjects.

However, this one from a German band, Icarus, stands out for me. It’s different to pretty much every other Mythos song I’ve heard, and it’s the only one I can think of that mentions the Demon Sultan.

I’d love to track down a CD of theirs, but searches so far haven’t been too successful. I’ll keep looking though 😉

  1. I don’t think they have a CD. Their webpage is here: http://icarus.repage.de/

Pity… Yeah, plenty of other paraphernalia on the website, but no CDs… DOH!
