I’ve run across quite a few Mythos-inspired songs, whether they contain passing references to the likes of The King in Yellow in Blue Oyster Cult’s E.T.I. or are full-blown homages such as Metalica’s Call of Ktulu. Some bands, namely The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, produce more Mythos songs than they do regarding other subjects.

However, this one from a German band, Icarus, stands out for me. It’s different to pretty much every other Mythos song I’ve heard, and it’s the only one I can think of that mentions the Demon Sultan.

I’d love to track down a CD of theirs, but searches so far haven’t been too successful. I’ll keep looking though 😉

Following a post on Facebook that proves Google Translate can do a pretty good impression of beat-boxing (even if it does think a string of random letters equates to German…), I came up with the idea of putting the familiar phrase “Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn” in there and seeing what it comes up with.

Apparently, Cthulhu speaks Welsh (again, if the auto-detect language feature is accurate)!

Following the recent discussion between The Good Friends of Jackson Elias about influential TV shows, I had a wander around YouTube and came across this short that I hadn’t seen for a few years.

Anyone looking for comical entertainment for a couple of minutes might well enjoy the linked video 😉

I think I can pretty much guarantee that anyone who has met me in person at a convention or at any other time will be able to testify that I am almost always found in a suit, or at least shirt and tie. I have a pretty formal wardrobe – and I only own about three t-shirts, which I don’t wear very often.

Unsurprisingly, two out of those three t-shirts have Cthulhu overtones (one bearing a Yellow Sign, the other an illustration of Nyarlathotep)… and the third is about Dr Zoidberg, so it isn’t a million miles away from the Great Old One! However, if I was to add something a little more informal to my wardrobe, I think it might look a little like this.

I discovered this originally on eBay when running through one of my regular searches for Cthulhu paraphernalia and subsequently found an etsy page for more items in the designers range. I think it’s worth a look!
